The renewal of the successful series will take place this time in the 90s and will focus on two beloved characters, who will be repeated and played by the same actors • All the details

70 is the new 90s:

"The 70s Show" was one of the favorite comedy series of the late 90s and early 2000s, and fans will be happy to know that it will return to the screens soon - with a twist.

The media in the United States reports that the Netflix network has approved the production of a sequel to the beloved seventies sitcom, this time called "That 90's Show" ("90s show", as it will probably be called in Israel).

As in the original series, this time actors Curtwood Smith and Deborah Joe Rap will step into the shoes of conservative parents Red and Kitty Foreman, and the two will also produce the series alongside the creators of the original series, Greg Mettler, Bonnie and Terry Turner, and their daughter Lindsay Turner.

The new series will take place in Wisconsin in 1995, and will follow the plots of Lia Foreman (daughter of Eric Foreman from "The 70s Show" - that is, the granddaughter of Red and Kitty), who will visit her grandparents in the summer and connect with a new generation of young people in Point Place.

In other words - the sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll of the original series did not disappear, they simply changed wardrobe.

At the moment, the actors of the '70s show' are not planned to be a regular part of the new cast, but the plan is that some of them (including Ashton Kutcher) will be hosted in the sequel.

The discourse about reviving the beloved series has been going on for several years, with the Netflix network showing great interest in it.

This is mainly in light of the high viewing figures that the series received, when it was viewable on the popular streaming platform.

"The 70s Show" aired on the American Fox network for eight seasons, from 1998 to 2006, and it introduced to the world of culture a number of actors who would later cultivate successful acting careers in Hollywood, led by Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis (who even became a couple in reality, Years after playing one in the series).

The series told the story of six teenagers living in the imaginary town of Point Place, from May 1976 to December 31, 1979 - the last day of the 1970s.

In 2002, a sub-series of the show, called "The 80s Show," came out, but it failed to replicate the success of its predecessor.

"The 90s Show" joins a wave of successful series innovations from two decades ago, including "Sex and the City" which will soon return to screens in new episodes.
