In Brandenburg, Rolls-Royce wants to advance the research and development of hybrid-electric drive systems for the next generation of aviation.
The company announced on Friday that the new office is to be built at the Rolls-Royce site in Dahlewitz and Cottbus.
A corresponding declaration of intent was signed with the Federal and State Ministry of Economics.
Cottbus - The project will be funded with funds from the Structural Strengthening Act of Coal Regions, the Aviation Research Program and other state funds.
Significant investments are planned with positive funding decisions until 2027, it said.
Around 50 highly qualified jobs are to be secured this year.
The new facility should be located at the Center for Hybrid Electric Systems Cottbus (CHESCO) of the Brandenburg Technical University Cottbus-Senftenberg, where most of the development work should take place.
The technical management will be in Dahlewitz.

Municipalities buy air purifiers for schools
After initial hesitation, some municipalities are now buying air purification devices for their schools on a larger scale in order to prevent the spread of corona infections in the classrooms in autumn and winter.
For example, 100 devices are to be purchased for seven schools in the Schwerin school district and 46 devices for 27 schools in the Neubrandenburg school district.
