Tensions in Asia are rising, with Dushanbe refusing to step down in a terrorist organization and fears of an invasion by a Tajik-Afghan militant group into the country • Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko: "Russia will protect and provide Tajikistan with any assistance it needs" •

Reports in Russia: The Taliban have made an alliance with a group of Tajik-Afghan militants who could invade Tajikistan.

The same reports led to a quick official response from Moscow yesterday (Friday), which has clear interests in Central Asia and the stability of Tajikistan.

"Russia is ready to defend Tajikistan from any invasion - and any assistance required will be provided to it," Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko told Interfax.

"Assistance will be provided both within the framework of the Convention on Common Security and at the level of bilateral relations."

It is highly doubtful whether this declaration caused peace in Dushanbe, since Armenia relied heavily on Russian aid and help from the Organization for Common Security Convention during the Second Carbach War, and these were found to be a broken reed.

"There are indeed reports that the Taliban are unable to control the situation in northern Afghanistan," Deputy Prime Minister Rudenko continued, "and yet, we still hope they will honor the promises they have made and not attack their neighbors."

The background to the events concerns the issue of the recognition of Taliban rule in Afghanistan.

At a time when most of the neighbors of the divided country already recognized the regime of the terrorist organization - including Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.

Tajikistan currently refuses to recognize the regime of the terrorist organization.

Earlier, the Taliban tried, through various and bizarre methods, to promote the recognition of Tajikistan - including border security between countries with a battalion of suicide bombers.

In the meantime, it seems that Dushanbe does not intend to change her position on the issue.
