Her neighing rose on the racetrack, so the enthusiasm of her fans on the stands increased, so that the horses with their breeders wrote a new chapter of power competitions on the Damascus racetrack, from the gate of the ninth periodic race for purebred Arabian horses, which was established by the Syrian Association for Purebred Arabian Horses in cooperation with the Arabian Horses Office at the Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform.
With the end of the current season, the ninth race witnessed a new flavor in the competition. All breeders are racing to finish their season with more points that rank them with their horse trainers and jockeys in the best order.
The horse races Nadia Al-Fahd won the race, owned by Abi Al-Huri, the horses Rakan Al-Rasheed, owned by Sahban Al-Barazi, Ayman Al-Issa and Al-Muhannad Hama by Moaz Al-Mahayni, Al-Amal by Ibrahim and Imad Al-Khamis, Sahem by Al-Shurta Club, and Ward Al-Kour by Shadi Al-Kour.
The race runs were distributed to pure Syrian horses and registered horses. The first, third, and fifth runs were for the pure, second, fourth and sixth for the registered, according to their grades, noting that the first half was held for a distance of 1000 meters, while the remaining runs were for a distance of 1600 metres.
The breeder and coach, Sami Ghareeb, said in a statement to SANA’s sports representative, “We oversaw the end of the season, and it was remarkable in the ninth race that the strong competition and the great participation of 57 horses, a remarkable number with the end of the races, is an indication of the development of the level of horses, as well as the time it takes for horses to travel a distance The runs are also better than his predecessor, and it all comes down to the good preparation before each race.”
Breeder Nassar Kahoul agrees with Ghareeb about the strength of the competition in the six rounds of this race, with the diversity of participants between novice horses and skilled horses that have previously won advanced positions in past races, pointing to the need to pay more attention to the Damascus racetrack, especially in light of the great turnout. Which races are usually witnessed by fans of the sport of authenticity and tradition.
The Director of the Society, Engineer Muhammad Al-Wadi, stated that the results of all races for different grades are recorded periodically in the World Racing Organization. Therefore, breeders seek to continuously develop the level of their horses to find a distinguished position on the list of results, where they carefully select their horses to participate in the races according to specific criteria based on strength and endurance to be subject to programs Training by trainers specialized in preparing speed horses.
Meters away from the starting line, photography and documentation enthusiasts are waiting for the starting banner to start keeping pace with each run separately. Shaza Al-Kalawi, a horse groomer and jockey, said: “My attachment to Arab horses and my love for them prompted me to document all their races by filming the competitions and broadcasting them via the Internet to equestrian followers. The association had held the eighth periodic race on the equestrian facility track in Hama, with the participation of 53 horses from different governorates and for seven runs.
