Senior Hamas official: We have sent to Egypt a proposal for a prisoner exchange deal, waiting for Israel's position

A member of the Hamas political bureau, Muhammad Nazal, said today that the terrorist organization "has submitted a clear proposal to the Egyptian side and a detailed vision for completing a prisoner exchange deal."

In an interview with the Egyptian a-R'ed channel, the senior Hamas official said that they were waiting for Israel's final position and its response to the roadmap proposed for a prisoner exchange deal.

According to Nazal, Hamas is interested in reaching a deal without going backwards and will force Israel to pay a high price.

He further noted that during a Hamas leadership meeting with Marwan Barghouti's wife, it was promised that the security prisoner and other senior officials would be at the top of the list in the deal.

He also denied that the organization was discussing a long-term truce with Egyptian intelligence.

According to him, there is currently limited calm, but Israel is not committed to it.
