Three people were seriously injured in a collision between two cars at an intersection near Eutingen im Gäu (Freudenstadt district).
A car immediately started to burn, the police said on Saturday.
The elderly couple (70 and 69 years old) sitting there were saved by the “courageous intervention of a witness”.
Horb - The driver of the car had probably disregarded the right of way at the so-called Withau intersection - where the B463 and the K4718 meet - it was said.
He drove into the intersection without braking, although there was a stop there.
In the other car, a 28-year-old was behind the wheel, who, like the couple, was taken to a hospital.
There was presumably also environmental damage: fire-fighting water contaminated with oil ended up in the ground.
