Beirut, SANA- The electricity was completely cut off in Lebanon after work stopped at Al-Zahrani and Deir Ammar factories for the production of food

Beirut-Sana

Electricity was completely cut off in Lebanon after work stopped at Al-Zahrani and Deir Ammar plants for energy production.

According to Lebanese media, the two plants stopped as a result of the diesel fuel depletion and the drop in energy production to below 200 megawatts.

For its part, the Lebanese National Media Agency stated that contacts were made to partially secure the restoration of electricity to various Lebanese regions by providing production stations with fuel from the reserves available for extreme necessities, pointing out that the electricity will gradually return in the coming hours.

For months, Lebanon has been suffering from a fuel shortage crisis, which is reflected in various sectors, including hospitals, bakeries, communications and foodstuffs.

During the past weeks, Jordanian, Syrian, Lebanese, and Egyptian ministerial meetings were held in Amman, during which it was agreed to transfer Egyptian gas and Jordanian electricity to Lebanon through Syrian territory.
