The following inflammatory syndrome, which is mainly manifested in children in a post-corona condition, already yesterday (Saturday) caused the death of a 16-year-old boy without a background illness and hospitalization in the serious condition of a three-year-old toddler. The multisystem syndrome of pimples is typical of coronary heart disease and includes symptoms such as high fever, rash, abdominal pain, loss of appetite, general weakness, decreased blood pressure and even heart problems.

Prof. Galia Grisero, director of the infectious disease unit for children at Dana-Duak Hospital in Ichilov, told Walla! "There are no exact numbers about the prevalence of cases. From the outbreak of the plague until June, in the previous waves of illness, there were about a hundred cases. Since then, about 50 cases of this syndrome have been diagnosed in children."

Grisero added that there is no way to determine with certainty what is causing the increase in morbidity in this syndrome: "We do not know whether it is because of the Indian variant or because more children are infected. In recent months there has been a marked increase, certainly, but we do not know why. "The four weeks after corona disease. It is mostly common at ages 5-4, but can also happen to younger toddlers."

Eden Fiumi was brought to Meir Hospital in Kfar Saba this week after feeling unwell. The doctors failed in the initial diagnosis. The diagnosis of the syndrome came only after a few days, and even then - no Acmo device was found for him, and he was transferred to Schneider Hospital in Petah Tikva, where his condition deteriorated until his death was determined.

Two days earlier, a seven-month-old baby infected with corona had been hospitalized in critical condition at Safra Children's Hospital at Sheba Medical Center following the same syndrome, and was connected to an Acme machine. The baby's family lived in Eilat and arrived at the hospital after showing respiratory distress. The girl did not develop any symptoms of corona when she became infected, and the fact that she was positive in the past was revealed on a serological examination.

Prof. Grisero explained that the consequences of the syndrome can be far-reaching in terms of health. "The syndrome is multi-systemic and can cause respiratory symptoms, digestive problems such as diarrhea, rashes, and most severely - heart problems," she testified.

The phenomenon of "contagion parties" has already made a name for itself among many parents who preferred to cause deliberate infection with the corona virus in their children, assuming that the disease is not so severe in children.

In doing so, parents seek to save the "hassle" of performing routine corona examinations and entering periodic isolations.

Grisero said that the danger is tens of times greater than the minimal profit from this operation.

"My message is that if there are parents who want to do contagion parties to free their children from isolation, then let them know it is undesirable and the price can be expensive," she explained.

Even if children experience coronary heart disease relatively easily, then they are at risk of developing the severe syndrome.

"The children who develop the syndrome come to the intensive care unit," Grisero noted, recommending that "if you know the child has Corona, and for a few days he is experiencing such symptoms, you should get to the emergency room urgently."

"No need to get into hysteria."

Dr. Pesach (Photo: Official Website, Safra Spokeswoman)

Dr. Itai Pesach, deputy director of Safra Children's Hospital, said that in the current wave of illness "we are seeing more children experiencing this syndrome - because many children are infected with this wave". Pesach calmed down and said that To hysteria. I understand the parents who are afraid, but as a pediatrician I can reassure the parents that in most cases there is a complete recovery. "

Pesach also said that the age range for people with this syndrome is wider than commonly thought: Avoid it by vaccinating all adults. Even children over the age of 12 need to get vaccinated and fast. There is no worldwide report of a child contracting this syndrome after being vaccinated. "

"Despite the syndrome, I still think the green class outline is safe, and I'm glad they're starting the outline we thought of in Safra. The syndrome is very rare and not because of the need to stop following the outline. The book, "he concluded.
