Lebanese Minister of Public Works, Ali Hamiya, affirmed that communication and cooperation between Syria and Lebanon is a priority to serve the interests of the two countries and peoples.
In his speech today, Hamiya said: "Lebanon depends mainly on agriculture, industrial production, and the transportation of products abroad, and Syria is the main transit gateway to Lebanon, and therefore coordination and communication with it is necessary to ensure the interests of Lebanese farmers and producers and the interests of the two brotherly countries."
Hamiya indicated that he was formally assigned to communicate with Syria, Jordan and Iraq about reconsidering transit fees to abolish them, stressing that Syria has never been stingy in providing everything possible to help Lebanon and its people.
