The incident occurred on Friday evening (October 8) around 7.45 p.m. According to the police, an 88-year-old woman from Rosenheim drove her VW Golf from Penzberg towards Iffeldorf. In Untereurach she turned left towards Iffeldorf. After the level crossing, she wanted to turn right onto Alpenstrasse. Due to the darkness and insufficient local knowledge, the woman turned too early to the right, reports the Penzberg inspection. The elderly woman drove her car on the railroad crossing to the right onto the rails. The front axle got stuck on the rails in the track bed because the underbody of her vehicle touched down. At the same time, a train left Iffeldorf station in the direction of Penzberg. Fortunately, the 44-year-old train driver noticed people on the track bed and slowly drove to the scene of the accident.There was no collision with the car. The people shone the lamps on their cell phones in the direction of the train.

No injuries

A police officer from Penzberg came to the scene of the accident out of service, ordered the people from the track bed and initiated the first measures.

After the accident was recorded, the barrier system was checked and released again from the train.

Nobody was harmed during the accident.

The resulting property damage is estimated by the police at 1000 euros.
