Immigrant jump: 20,360 immigrated to Israel since the beginning of the year Israel today

On the occasion of Aliyah Day, which will be celebrated in Israel on Wednesday this week, the Ministry of Aliyah and Absorption and the Jewish Agency are publishing immigration data for the country for 2021. According to the data, from the beginning of the year until today, about 20,360 new immigrants immigrated to Israel.

This is a significant increase of 31% compared to 15,598 immigrants who immigrated to Israel in the corresponding period last year in the Corona.

The leading countries with the most immigrants this year are Russia (5,075) - a slight decrease of about 5% compared to 2020;

The United States - from which 3,104 immigrated with the help of Nefesh Benefesh - an increase of 41% compared to the first nine months of 2020; France with 2,819 immigrants and a significant increase of 55% compared to last year; Ukraine with 2,123 immigrants; and Ethiopia 1,589 immigrants - compared to 285 Only in 2020.

Since the beginning of the year, 780 immigrants have immigrated from divided Belarus - a jump of 69%;

From Argentina 633 immigrants (46%);

From the UK 490 immigrants (20%);

From Brazil 438 immigrants;

And from South Africa 373 immigrants - 56% more than in 2020.

About 3.5 million immigrants

According to these data, more than half of the immigrants this year are young people up to the age of 35. A breakdown of the immigrant ages shows that 23.4% of them are children and adolescents aged 17-0, 33.4% are aged 35-18, 16.3% are aged 50-36, and the rest (27%) are 65-51.

17.3% of the immigrants are in the service, trade and marketing professions, 6.1% in the humanities and social sciences, 5.2% in the technology and engineering professions, 4.2% in medicine, 3.6% in accounting and law and only 2.7% of the immigrants are in the education professions.

Jerusalem is the city that has absorbed the largest number of immigrants since the beginning of the year - 2,184.

It is followed by Tel Aviv with 2,122 immigrants, 2,031 came to Netanya, 1,410 to Haifa and 744 new immigrants to Ashdod.

They are also followed by Raanana, Beit Shemesh, Nahariya, Beer Sheva and Bat Yam.

The immigrants came from dozens of countries, despite the corona crisis and cancellations of flights around the world, thanks to a special outline operated by the Ministry of Aliyah and Absorption and the Jewish Agency.

The dramatic increase in the number of immigrants to Israel since the beginning of the year, compared with the corresponding period last year, indicates a recovery in the rate of immigration to Israel.

According to the estimates of the Ministry of Aliyah and Absorption and the Jewish Agency, with the end of the corona crisis in the world, the flow of immigrants to Israel is expected to increase even more.

In all, more than 3,340,000 immigrants immigrated to Israel.

Aliyah Day expresses recognition of its importance, as an anchor for the existence of the State of Israel and its development.
