The visit of Israel by the retiring German Chancellor Angela Merkel, who landed in Israel last night (Saturday), continued, when she arrived at the Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum.
Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, Yad Vashem Council Chairman Danny Dayan and Chief Rabbi Israel Meir Lau will accompany her on a visit to the site.
At a news conference earlier today with Bennett, Merkel referred to the nuclear deal with Iran, saying that "we are in crucial weeks. We want to send Iran an unmistakable message - it must return to the negotiating table soon."
The Chancellor added: "During my tenure, members of my government and I have worked hard to make the relations between our countries and our residents much stronger and better. .
She added that "Israel's security will always be of great importance in any government formed in Germany."
