Opinion | Quarrels within the right? This gift must not be given to the left Israel today

Settlers and residents of the periphery, crocheted and traditional domes: if we do not stop fighting among ourselves, we will give this government a divided opposition

Things are simple: if we continue to quarrel with each other, settlers and residents of the periphery, knitted and traditional domes, we will give the current government the gift it did not even dare to dream of: an unbounded opposition.

Let's start with the fact that there are good reasons to be angry at the religious Zionist elite, which is trying to convey to us, the Likudniks and the national camp, a series of educations in statehood and unity.

With all due respect, stateliness does not swallow any frog and smile humbly when spit on.

Statehood is to see the good of the kingdom above your personal or sectoral good, and we have done this from the establishment of the state to the present day at every possible historical and political junction.

It is true that it is difficult to remain indifferent or calm in the face of the desire and longing of some of the crocheted domes to associate themselves with the "right" people - or as Foreign Minister Lapid calls them, "the normal ones".

Do not the national-religious elite understand that those "normals" are just waiting for the day when the settlements will be a part of history?

That "normalcy" is sometimes also the opposite of "Judaism"?

Indeed, it is difficult not to be drawn into controversy - and yet, one must.

I read on social media, in all sorts of variations, very dear, and very hurt people, who say in one word or another: Dear settlers, when they come to evacuate you, I will not be there to support you.

Let us leave the fact that I am sure and convinced that this is nonsense, and that on the day of the order, national sentiment will prevail over anger and resentment.

Revenge has never been part of our political culture, there is no point in putting it in DNA. We will also leave that there is a huge gap between the people who claim to represent the national religious in general, and the settlers in particular, and the settlers themselves. Understand that except in a few bourgeois localities, the right has not really succeeded beyond the Green Line.

We will focus mainly, and the main thing is that we do not protect the Land of Israel and the settlements in Judea and Samaria because of those who live there - and I am among them. We have never seen the settlement enterprise as a sectoral enterprise, but a national one. Our history, our present, and we believe in the future as well. The Jewish presence beyond the Green Line is the security guarantee of the state.

Under 12 years of Likud, settlement in Judea and Samaria has become a consensus. Localities have flourished, infrastructure investments have reached an all-time high. Want proof? Read the Peace Now reports.

As in the joke about the Jew buying an antisemitic newspaper to read that the Jews rule the world, so the leftist organizations teach us how the last few years have been the golden age of settlement.

It is done gradually, and steadily, but it is an existing fact, and this achievement must not be erased.

One must stand as one man in the face of attempts to tattoo him.

The current government is just waiting for the moment when the national camp will split around the most significant core issue of our right to the land.

She must not be given this gift.
