The police inspected the Internet cafes, game console centers and bars in Kwun Tong today (10th) and found that in 3 of the premises, 18 customers did not scan the Safe Travel App, so they and the persons in charge of the 3 premises were ticketed.

The other four people showed the police suspected of false and safe journeys, and were arrested for misleading police officers. They were charged at the same time.

The three premises involved are an internet cafe on Shui Wo Street, an amusement center on Kwun Tong Road and an amusement center on Hoi Yuen Road.

During today’s inspections by the Tactical Unit of the East Kowloon Region, it was found that 16 male customers and 2 female customers (aged 15 to 46) did not use Anxin Travel to scan the QR code of the place, suspected of violating the "Prevention and Control of Diseases" (Regulations and Instructions) (Business and Places) Regulations (Chapter 599F).

A 26-year-old wanted man arrested in the operation

The female person in charge of the three venues was also suspected of violating the "Prevention and Control of Disease (Regulations and Instructions) (Business and Locations) Regulations" (Chapter 599F) for failing to ensure that the guests in the venue scan the QR code to travel with peace of mind.

The staff then made a vote against the batch of customers and the person in charge.

In addition, 3 men and 1 woman (aged between 16 and 25) showed the police suspected of false and safe journeys and were arrested on suspicion of misleading police officers. They were also charged.

During the inspection of a bar on Hong Ning Road, another 26-year-old wanted man was arrested.

All arrested men and women are now being detained for investigation and the case is handed over to the Kwun Tong District Criminal Investigation Team for follow-up.
