The Lebanese Minister of Energy and Water, Walid Fayyad, confirmed today that the country's electrical network has returned to its normal operation after running out of gas in the Deir Ammar and Zahrani power plants yesterday.
Fayyad said in a statement today that "the Lebanese Army Command delivered a total quantity of 6,000 kiloliters of gas-oil equally between the Deir Ammar and Al-Zahrani plants," adding that "the reverse engines plant in Jiyeh was connected to the network with a power of 50 megawatts and Deir Ammar plant with a power of 210." MW and the inverter motors plant in Zouk with a power of 120 MW, and the gas group in Al-Zahrani was also connected to the network, so that the plants will return to the maximum available capacity to the network very soon.”
He explained that "the production capacity of Deir Ammar and Al-Zahrani plants will be replaced by another from the Al-Zouk and Jiyeh thermal plants after feeding them from fuel oil, which will maintain the total production capacity of about 500 megawatts to maintain the stability and stability of the network."
The electricity was completely cut off in Lebanon yesterday, after work stopped in the Al-Zahrani and Deir Ammar factories, after running out of fuel.
