A 28-year-old man was killed last night (Saturday) as a result of gunfire in the village of Ilut in the Lower Galilee.

He was taken to the English Hospital in Nazareth, where he was moderately-severely injured, but later died of his wounds.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the wounded man was standing in one of the houses in the center of the village and was hit by a bullet fired during a conflict between two families.

The incident began around 10:30 PM when a call was received at the 100 police hotline about stone-throwing between two families in conflict in the village.

The police were called to the scene, and while they were trying to locate the stone-throwers, gunshots began to be heard from several different points.

Police opened an investigation and arrested five suspects involved in the incident.
