A French study carried out by scientists in the Abifar Group revealed that vaccination against the Corona virus, Covid 19, reduces the risk of death due to infection with the virus by 90 percent in people over the age of fifty, and appears also effective against the delta mutant.
The head of the study team, Mahmoud Zureik, was quoted by AFP as saying: “Vaccinated people are nine times less likely to be hospitalized or die from complications from Covid 19, compared to those who are not vaccinated.”
The researchers reached this conclusion by comparing the data of 11 million vaccinated individuals over the age of 50 with the data of 11 million people of the same age group, but not vaccinated over a period that extended from the first day vaccination began in France, i.e. December 27, 2020 until July 20 last year.
The researchers noted a decrease in the risk of hospitalization by more than 90 percent, starting from the fourteenth day of infection, after the person received his second dose of the Pfizer Biontech, Moderna or AstraZeneca vaccines. .
