The occupied Syrian Golan - SANA
Our people in the occupied Syrian Golan are organizing a protest sit-in in the village of Masada today, in rejection of the Israeli occupation’s settlement plans on their land, stressing their attachment to every speck of dust and their steadfastness in the face of the occupation’s attempts to forcibly displace them from it.
The sit-down comes in protest of the occupation government holding a provocative meeting today on the occupied Golan to expand settlement operations and announcing a plan to establish seven thousand new units with the aim of increasing the number of settlers from 40 to 100 thousand, within the framework of the occupation’s plans to change the demographic and geographical character in the Golan. It also comes as a rejection of its plan to establish 46 turbines on an area of approximately six thousand dunums of the lands of the villages of Majdal Shams, Ain Qinya, Beqatha and Masada, in flagrant violation of the resolutions of international legitimacy and the Charter of the United Nations.
Syria constantly affirms that the occupied Golan is an integral part of its lands and works to return every atom of its soil to the homeland by all available means as it is an eternal right that does not fall into a statute of limitations. This is the establishment of settlements on its lands with the aim of changing its demographic, geographical and legal nature.
