The juvenile criminal chamber of the Neuruppin Regional Court has sentenced three arsonists to several years' imprisonment.
The 20-year-old main defendant received a youth sentence of five years and six months for attempted murder, arson and property damage, court spokeswoman Iris le Claire announced on Monday.
According to the ruling, the 20-year-old had set fire to a mobile home in Neuruppin (Ostprignitz-Ruppin) in October last year, in which a married couple was sleeping.

The chamber assumed that the 20-year-old had to expect that there were people in the mobile home, said the court spokeswoman.
Because the parking space is often used by mobile homes.
So the defendant accepted the death of people.
The 20-year-old had stated in court that he had carried out the arson because of the "kick" and the attention generated.
He was also sentenced to pay the couple compensation for pain and suffering, the amount of which has yet to be determined.

A co-defendant, aged 26, was sentenced to four years and three months in prison for arson and property damage, and another 23-year-old defendant was sentenced to two years without parole for aiding and abetting.
The trio is said to have set fire to cars, motorcycles and hay bales in numerous cases in Neuruppin and the surrounding area between July and November last year.
The 20-year-old carried out the arson attack on the mobile home alone.
The judgments are not yet final.
