The plans for a building area in Puchheim have been making waves for some time.

On the part of the city, they now want to seek contact with the citizens - and give them extensive say.

Puchheim

- Before making concrete decisions about the future building area on the Alpenstrasse, the people of Puchheim should be allowed to have a say in an unprecedented extent. A timetable has now been presented to the city council's development committee, according to which a public “dialogue event” will be scheduled this year. At this meeting, mayors and parliamentary groups want to explain the background and goals of the project and answer questions, as far as the planning status already allows. "First of all it's about listening," said Mayor Norbert Seidl (SPD) in the committee.

The topics raised at this meeting are then to be deepened in a "citizens' workshop" under neutral, external moderation in the first half of 2022.

Only on the basis of the key data obtained in this way is an architects' competition to be launched.

All drafts are exhibited at the end and can be assessed again by the Puchheimers in a “participatory project check”.

Only after this last response does the city council decide which model or which ideas from several drafts are to be implemented and initiate the development plan procedure.

If necessary, citizens can also be involved during the entire process.

The aim of this extensive participation is also expressly to “promote acceptance for the building area”.

It is possible to talk about possible meeting places and social offers in the future settlement, about a mobility concept and the design of open spaces.

The city council has already decided that there should be construction on the Alpenstrasse, that multi-storey buildings should be part of it and that space should be left for a social facility, presumably a daycare center.

The direct residents should be specifically written to and invited, but the procedure is open to all Puchheim residents.

"For those who live there and those who care," said Seidl.

He reported on a previous "very constructive and trust-building" conversation with representatives of the citizens' initiative Project Alpenstrasse (BIPA), which, however, had also been conducted "very honestly" by both sides.

Karin Kamleiter (CSU), in turn, addressed a BIPA flyer that apparently showed a building area with three high-rise buildings.

"I'm surprised we are trusted to do that," she said.
