He does not want to be bored with questions about the deaths related to Covid-19 in his country: Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro said on Monday during a public appearance on a beach in Guaruja, São Paulo state.

A few days ago it became official that more than 600,000 people in Brazil had died as a result of the virus.

»In which country did no people die?

Tell me, ”Bolsonaro replied to a reporter when asked about the corona deaths.

"I didn't come here to be bored."

Only in the US are there more corona deaths

The right-wing populist Bolsonaro played down the corona virus from the start and rejects protective measures and restrictions.

He also doubts the point of vaccinations and emphasized several times that he himself has not yet been vaccinated.

He caught the virus in July last year.

A parliamentary committee of inquiry into his government's corona crisis management is running.

At the beginning of October there were demonstrations against the president in several cities in Brazil.

The participants called for his removal from office, more vaccines and more jobs.

There had been repeated protests against Bolsonaro over the summer.

In Brazil, according to official figures, 601,011 people died of or with the corona virus, and more than 21 million people were infected.

Only in the US are there more deaths.
