It seems to be really dangerous for younger children at the bus stop at the school center.

These would be bullied and downright crushed on the railings.

“I am shocked by the way things are there,” a mother once again addresses those responsible.

That is exactly why there is the problem with the parent taxis.

Schongau -

More safety for the students on their way to the school center - the city wants to ensure that.

Only recently, the building committee decided to minimize the number of parents' taxis with a time-restricted entry ban, as precarious situations arise again and again due to the cars arriving and departing.

From this week, from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., Bürgermeister-Lechenbauer-Strasse will be closed.

In response to this report in our newspaper, a mother from Ingenried has now contacted the editorial office.

As one possible reason for the ever worsening parent-taxi situation at the Schongau school center, she again considers the extremely dangerous incidents at the bus stop at the school center to be, according to her description.

"The situation there is very precarious," said Angela Wellecke.

Recurring horror stories from the children

The engineer is used to a lot: her children have been bus children for around ten years, and you experience a lot.

And yet the mother does not want to get used to what the eldest and, more recently, the youngest daughter and her friends report at lunch, recurring terrifying stories.

"Since the start of this school year, the stories are subjectively even more shocking than in previous years," Wellecke now addresses with a letter to various contacts - the school transport in the district office, the local schools, the RVO and the parents' council. In the hope of a quick remedy, because she made another picture for herself in the past week and is shocked.

The structural measures with bars on Busstrasse have not changed the fact that "the students are extremely upset, violent and dangerous to traffic", she describes her observations.

“Children are crushed in such a way that they no longer touch the ground with their feet.

They are being dragged back by their satchels, elbows are rammed into faces. "According to their descriptions, terrible scenes must take place:" There was a child who, crying, clamped his face on the satchel of the man in front. "

A bus supervisor and five stops

Especially the younger, physically smaller children are affected, for whom the bars are a trap.

As if that weren't enough, they were often pushed and pushed at the bus stop by the taller students.

And the individual bus supervisors can never manage to keep an eye on all five stops at the same time and must also allow themselves to be insulted and molested, Wellecke has learned.

Her fear: “It won't be long before a child gets caught up there.

You don't have to wait that long. ”She would like the on-site situation to be explored over a longer period of time, since the pupils will certainly behave according to the regulations“ one time ”when observed once.

City knows, but can't do anything

The state of affairs is well known in the city and one is on the topic, knows Esther Laue, who is responsible for school transport. There are various ideas, but no statements can yet be made about possible solutions. The proposal to provide the bus supervisor with more people is difficult to implement. The period between 12.45 and 1.15 p.m. must be covered every day. "Find someone for 2.5 hours a week who regularly supervises them," says Laue, describing the dilemma.

The last incident that came to light in July - a student was knocked over and then overrun - had already been made clear: Neither the city, nor the district, nor the schools, nor the RVO were responsible for the situation at the bus entrance. It is a “public space” that only the police are authorized to control. "And structurally, we are equipped in an exemplary manner," says city architect Sebastian Dietrich. The jostling bars and the pavement have currently been retrofitted, "there is nothing comparable at other schools". In addition, the area is traffic-calmed.

From this Tuesday, you can also only enter the Bürgermeister-Lechenbauer-Straße to a limited extent.

Apart from authorized drivers and the school buses, there will be no vehicle there until late in the afternoon.

Just wait for the signs.
