Egyptian parliamentarian: The US and Turkish presence in Syria supports terrorism

The Egyptian parliamentarian, member of the House of Representatives and deputy head of the Tagammu Party, Atef Maghawry, stressed the necessity of the withdrawal of US and Turkish forces from Syrian territory, as they are occupying forces that violate international legitimacy and violate Syrian sovereignty.

Maghawry said in a statement to SANA’s reporter in Cairo today: “The illegal American presence in Syria is supportive of terrorism and a safe haven for terrorist organizations, and it violates international conventions, and the international community must intervene immediately to expel the American forces and prevent them from stealing the wealth of this country.”

Maghawry added: "The unilateral coercive measures imposed on Syria must be lifted immediately, as they represent an assault on Syrian sovereignty and an attempt to impose hegemony on its decisions and policies.
