The airport of Palma de Mallorca has recently separated into vaccinated and unvaccinated people after arrival.

That creates a stir on social media.

In most countries, vaccinated, convalescent and tested persons are allowed to enter with appropriate proof.

All documents must also be checked, which has now resulted in

vaccinated and unvaccinated people

having

to queue up in one of two lines after arrival at Son Sant Joan Airport in Mallorca

.

However, this measure only applies to domestic travelers, i.e. people who travel between different regions of Spain.

Mallorca: Airport separates after arrival into vaccinated and unvaccinated

This separation of vaccinated and unvaccinated people promptly sparked a discussion on social media: Jorge Campos, the chairman of the right-wing extremist party Vox in the Balearic Islands, shared a photo showing the two signs showing the vaccinated and the unvaccinated for the checks after the Orientation towards arrival.

The politician accuses the airport operating company, Aemet, of “intolerable discrimination”.

Aemet confirmed the measure to the Mallorca Zeitung.

Llegadas Aeropuerto de Palma de Mallorca.

Animo a los ciudadanos, que no quieran ser señalados y segregados, a saltarse esta discriminación intolerable promovida por @aena y @goib

Ministry of Health explains airport measure

The Balearic Ministry of Health commented on the allegation and stated that it was in no way discriminatory.

Rather, the regulation should

enable smooth processing

, as a spokeswoman said according to the Mallorca newspaper.

Those who have not been vaccinated and those who have not recovered would have to present both a negative test result and a completed health form when entering the Balearic Islands.

The control of these documents is more complex than that of the Covid passport.

All you have to do here is scan a QR code.

In addition, there was criticism on social media that the sign for unvaccinated people pointed to the treadmills, while vaccinated people should take the walk.

Here, however, the airport stated that the treadmills were switched off.

So both groups have to run.
