Günther supports the new election of the entire CDU federal executive committee

Schleswig-Holstein's Prime Minister Daniel Günther (CDU) welcomes the planned election of the entire CDU leadership.

"It is the right signal for the reorganization to elect not just the federal chairman, but the entire federal executive board," said Günther, who is also the CDU state chairman, on Monday in Kiel.

"The federal party congress responsible for this should take place this year if possible."

Kiel - The meetings of the Presidium and the Federal Executive Committee on Monday were shaped by the desire to gain new strength with a sense of community.

Union Chancellor candidate Armin Laschet announced after the lost federal election on Thursday that he wanted to moderate the renewal process of his party that is now necessary and propose a party congress to the committees.
