Schleswig-Holstein's Prime Minister Daniel Günther does not see himself at the forefront when it comes to realigning the CDU.
"I am happy to help with the reorganization of the federal government, but not in the front line," said the Union politician of the "world".
Günther was most recently traded alongside economic expert Friedrich Merz, Minister of Health Jens Spahn, foreign expert Norbert Röttgen and Union parliamentary group leader Ralph Brinkhaus for the CDU chairmanship.
Berlin / Kiel - "Overall, we need a new start and should therefore re-elect our entire board - in the course of this year," Günther continued and criticized the fact that only men always played a role in the debate about the reorganization of the party.
This Monday, the presidium and the board of the CDU will meet in Berlin to discuss how to proceed after the election debacle two weeks ago.
