Tübingen - The election campaign for the Tübingen town hall has officially started: The Greens in Tübingen want to decide on their candidate for the OB election next year with a primary election.
There should be no nomination event like in the last two elections with Boris Palmer, who has been controversial for months, as the only candidate.
"There is at least one person who wants to compete against Boris Palmer," said Marc Mausch from the city council on Monday.
A general meeting is to resolve a procedure on Wednesday next week (October 20th).
Incumbent Boris Palmer did not want to comment when asked and first wanted to wait for the decision of the general meeting.
When asked whether he will run again in the mayor election in autumn 2022 after two terms in office, Palmer said: "I'll think about that in peace."

Mausch said: "Of course, in such a situation it is clear to the incumbent that one thinks about it carefully." He assumes that the meeting will vote for a primary election.
