Hesse's AfD state spokesman Klaus Herrmann has regretted the announced withdrawal of Jörg Meuthen from the party leadership. "Some of the membership will be disappointed," said Herrmann on Monday in Wiesbaden. The vote of the delegates in the upcoming election of the party executive would have "also represented a classifying and evaluating character of the political decisions and would have been desirable in this respect".
Wiesbaden - "It is now in the hands of the delegates at the coming federal party congress to decide in which line-up the leadership of the AfD will represent our political demands." The federal party congress is planned for December 11th in Wiesbaden.
The AfD in Hesse is currently led by a dual leadership with Robert Lambrou and Herrmann.
The new Hessian state executive is to be elected on November 20th.

Heated debates in the Landtag session with the new government
The long-time AfD boss Meuthen had announced in a circular to the AfD members that, after intensive considerations and discussions with his family, he had decided not to run for the top position in the new election of the party executive in December.
The 60-year-old currently shares the chairmanship with Tino Chrupalla, who leads the parliamentary group together with Alice Weidel.
In the past two years, Meuthen has pleaded for a more moderate course for the AfD.
