Artist Jiang Ruolin (original name: Jiang Ling) was retrial for a case involving breach of contract by the former manager of Huanyu, and the director of Huanyu's artist department gave a testimony.
During cross-examination, the lawyer representing Jiang pointed out that when Jiang Zeng was shooting an advertisement, his work expenses included a fee of 259 yuan for an artist’s breakfast. The supervisor admitted that he had this account, but said that he would get the artist’s approval first.
He admitted that he had learned from Jiang's assistant that Jiang was dissatisfied with the expenditure of recording records, but denied that he asked the assistant to explain to Jiang that this was a business rule.
The supervisor also mentioned that although Jiang had recorded the ending song for a movie of Doraemon, because Jiang was not well-known at the time, the opportunity was for the company to fight for her to come back for publicity, and Jiang did not receive any compensation.
The court also revealed that Jiang paid more than 300,000 yuan for filming the TV series "The True Colors of Men", and Jiang only received 35 percent of it.
The plaintiff is Universe Artist Management Co., Ltd., and the defendants are Jiang Ling and Dongwang International Entertainment Co., Ltd.
In the filing in 2014, Universe stated that Jiang had signed a 10-year artist manager contract under his parents’ guardianship in 2004. One of the clauses stated that Universe had priority to renew the contract with Jiang for 5 years, and Universe also notified Jiang Hui to exercise. The right to renew the contract, but Jiang unilaterally stated that he would not renew the contract, and even refused to participate in the work that Huanyu continued. Huanyu asked the court to order that the contract is still valid and seek compensation from Jiang.

Witness Yang Jianbiao (transliteration) confessed that he joined the plaintiff’s group in 1992 and worked in the artist department in 2004.
At the time of the case, there were about 10 artists under the company, including Jiang Ruolin, Luo Jialiang and Li Caihua. Among them, another colleague Kelly was responsible for Jiang Ruolin, including his expenses.
The artist pays the agreed fee
Yang pointed out that the artist’s expenses will be borne by the artist himself, but the expenses will only be calculated into the expenses with the consent of the relevant artist.
Yang also said that there was an agreement at that time that Jiang Ruolin would be responsible for the expenditure on the production of the disc.
Wei Jiang’s lawyer pointed out that there was no relevant agreement, and the deducted expenses in Jiang’s accounts had not been approved by Jiang.
Yang denied that and emphasized that she had obtained her consent in advance.
The judge asked how the relevant consent was obtained in advance. Yang Ju, for example, needed to make a music video (MV), and Jiang was willing to shoot, so he agreed to the relevant washing fee.
But he agreed, not to let her check the documents in advance.
There is a breakfast fee of 259 yuan for the advertisement
According to the accounts, Jiang’s lawyer stated that when Jiang shot the "Dr. Pro" advertisement in 2008, he had a receipt for inviting workers to eat breakfast at a cost of 259 yuan.
Yang emphasized that the washing fee had been approved by Jiang in advance, and it was also called: "The artist ordered breakfast." The judge asked how Yang learned about the situation at the time. Yang explained that the artist assistant provided relevant documents, so the artist's consent was obtained first.
Yang also emphasized that he would provide Jiang with relevant accounts every month, but pointed out that Jiang may be busy and only sign once every few months.
Zhijiang is dissatisfied with record spending
Jiang’s lawyer pointed out that Jiang released his first solo album "Innocent" in 2007.
However, she felt unhappy after receiving the relevant accounts, and Jiang complained to Kelly: "How about the extra expenses?" Kelly talked to Yang again about Jiang's dissatisfaction.
Yang said that he did not remember. He denied what Jiang said, and told Kelly to tell Jiang that it was a rule for artists to be responsible for their own cleaning fees, and Yang Qiangzhou "we are not in the recording industry."
Yang also denied that when he encountered related complaints later, Kelly asked Jiang to sign the accounts immediately, preventing her from verifying the accounts, saying: "No, there is an overbearing side."
Unknown as the ending song without pay
In addition, Yang Zhijiang recorded the ending song "Dreamland Day Harmony" for the movie "Doraemon Nobita's Cat and Dog Time and Space" in 2006, but did not earn any income.
Yang explained that if you find a famous singer to record the ending song, the singer may be paid.
But Jiang was not well-known at the time, and the company was fighting for the ending song of Jiang Records for publicity, so he was not paid.
Reward Jiang only accounts for about one-third of the TV series
Jiang's lawyer questioned Yang Shi and mentioned part of Jiang Ruolin's income at the time.
According to the documents submitted to the tax bureau, between April 2007 and March 2008, Huanyu paid Jiang more than 320,000 yuan.
Yang pointed out that this amount has not yet been deducted from the artist's expenses.
