In a murder trial before the regional court in Kaiserslautern, the verdict is expected this afternoon (2 p.m.).
The defendant is charged with killing his mother and her partner in March.
Kaiserslautern - The reason for the killing of the 60-year-old woman was therefore a dispute about the future of the jointly inhabited homestead.
According to the prosecution, the accused slew the 65-year-old partner in order to cover up the crime against the mother.
The 38-year-old is also accused of arson.
The public prosecutor's office is demanding life imprisonment.
The defense pleaded for a lower total imprisonment for manslaughter, arson and attempted arson.
