The "Hong Kong Climate Action Blueprint 2050" sets the goal of suspending coal for daily power generation by 2035 and plans to increase the proportion of renewable energy to 7.5% to 10% by 2035.
The government estimates that wind power generation in Hong Kong can meet about 3.5% to 4% of electricity demand; food waste recycling plants and other waste-to-energy accounts for 3% to 4%; and solar energy is expected to meet about 1% to 2%.
