A Saxon research association wants to use robots more in the trade and at the same time counteract the shortage of skilled workers.
The smart robotics should enable furniture production using remote-controlled milling robots, the association announced on Monday.
The control and maintenance of production systems using robots from the home office is also an option.
Chemnitz - “We want teams of people and robots to work side by side in industry and craft.
To do this, we have to develop new cutting-edge technologies and transfer them to medium-sized industry, ”explained Ulrike Thomas from the professorship for robotics and human-technology interaction at Chemnitz University of Technology.
