Restart after the corona restrictions: celebrate in the club for the first time

No distance, no ban on dancing, no mask requirement.

Now the clubs and discos have reopened under strict conditions after an almost 18-month Corona break.

The Tagblatt was present at the restart in the Olching “Legends Lounge” rock temple.

Saturday, 7.30 p.m .: After 576 days of forced rest, the “Legends Lounge” rock pub will reopen its gate, which is monitored by doorman Peter Miller (55), in an hour and a half.

Inside, disco boss Werner Runge gathers his staff around him again.

It is the last briefing before the long-awaited reopening.

Everyone's a little bit excited and tense now.

The seats at the bar and at the tables are already provided with name tags.

70 reservations were received in the run-up to the reopening.

After an almost 18-month break, even the bar boss, Anschi, who is experienced after eight "Legends" years, has a bit of stage fright.

"Hopefully everything works.

I missed the work here very much, it is my life. "

When Peter Miller, the doorman, lets the first guests into the rock temple at exactly 9 p.m., he is surprised at how enthusiastically the customers react to the regained freedom: “How awesome is that?” Screeches a group of four with disco ladies.

Without complaint, the five-euro entry fee is shelled out and the colored identification ribbon is put on.

"So liberating"

Detlef Neetz came with his Moni on the S-Bahn from Munich.

"Oh, how did we miss that," both cheer.

“It's so liberating.” The bar, which has existed under the name “Legends” since 2010, is the regular disco of the two Munich residents.

Detlef and Moni come “out into the country to party” several times a month.

Christiana is on the road even longer.

The Saxon, who lives in the Allgäu, takes on 300 kilometers there and back in order to have been “with my music family” at least twice a month for the past five years.

At the bar she mingles with a crowd of old rockers gathered on bar stools, which is visually aging, but still long-maned and by no means honorable.

Very nice people

Further back next to the barely frequented dance floor (you obviously have a lot to talk about before legs and arms are shaken out), Dagmar Weber, who has traveled from Bad Tölz, explains the “legendary” Upper Bavarian customs to her Austrian companion Wolfgang Samitz from Villach in rocky Olching. "How did we miss that. It was such a sad, boring, boring time. ”Several years ago, Dagmar Weber was made aware of the“ incredibly nice people ”in the Olching cult pub through the Brucker rock friends, who were also representing on the reopening day. Since then she has been on site just as regularly as Inge and Sepp Saller from neighboring Esting.

After 18 months of “home rock on the computer”, the couple want to listen to music again at the original volume and meet a few people.

In addition, they have something like an educational assignment to do: Son Florian, the ex-trainer of Esting's famous volleyball players, accompanies his parents to the "legends" and thus fulfills a kind of intergenerational disco revival.

DJ Chris will be playing again on the next Saturday, and the first live concert with some bands is planned for November 6th.

Until then, Werner Runge hopes that no corona cases will be reported in his "Legends Lounge" after the opening night.

Because there have already been enough examples of how things shouldn't work.
