Mayor Manfred Walter took the opportunity to present a solution for a Gilching ongoing issue.

Gilching

- The greatest challenge on the premiere evening of the Gilching Culture Week was the vaccination or test control at the entrance to the town hall foyer and the recording of visitor addresses. Even District Administrator Stefan Frey dutifully pulled his yellow vaccination card out of his pocket. After the movement artists of the Christoph-Probst-Gymnasium in the Rathauspark, unfortunately far too short a performance, Mayor Manfred Walter asked in the event hall to greet around 50 guests.

He was enthusiastic about the motto “Move together”. In the statement there is "a lot in it," he said. What exactly can be seen and heard at 16 venues until Sunday, October 17th. As a surprise for the auditorium, Walter also welcomed Antonio Fiengo from the Italian twin town of Cecina. As is well known, the wooden ball designed by him and ultimately abandoned to decay had to be removed from the market square after various renovation attempts. It is temporarily stored in the building yard until a final decision is made by the municipal council.

The council had proposed, among other things, the square in front of the town hall as a new location. Walter now announced almost euphorically that a decision had been made in coordination with the artist and Jakob Promoli, the chairman of the Cecina Association: The ball should be placed back in its usual place in the center of the village - but weatherproof fiberglass should now be used as the material will. "I am pleased that Antonio Fiengo found the long way to Gilching to discuss it with us," said Walter. "At the Festa Italiana next year, the friendship symbol will be back in its old place."

Proud of communities like Gilching, "which even in difficult times for all those involved in the cultural sector puts together a top-class program," said District Administrator Stefan Frey. Incidentally, he pointed out that the culture section is an “important economic factor” in the district.

Walter Manuela Hagn presented a colorful bouquet of flowers, who opened an exciting excursion into the various possibilities of painting in the foyer with remarkable landscape and nature images.

Your exhibition can be seen until the end of the culture week.

The musical highlight was the appearance of the Finnish singer Tuija Komi, who lives in Munich, with a band.

With her energetic presentation and her fantastic, sensual-rough voice, she managed to lure the initially somewhat reserved visitors out of the reserve with bossa, jazz, soul, swing and pop and get them to rock their feet.

Successful premiere.
