“Create, Recover” is a slogan launched by World Post Day to overcome the pressures that the Corona pandemic has placed on the sector that employs more than 5 million employees around the world and to highlight the ways it is taking to adapt to new realities and redefine its features through roles based on digitalization, e-commerce and financial services.
In Syria, the Postal Corporation’s services expanded to include real estate exchange service, postal remittances, payment of retired salaries, compensation for military demobilized, civil and justice registry, virtual university registration, as well as parcel services, postal box, commemorative stamps, urgent mail and shipping.
The Director of the Corporation, Hayan Maqsoud, confirmed in a press statement on the occasion of World Post Day that despite all the obstacles and current circumstances, Syrian Post seeks to continue development and support creativity and innovation to develop its basic postal services in a way that supports and enhances new and advanced services with high quality throughout the Syrian geography.
The postal network spreads all over the world, with more than 650,000 offices, and the 9th of October was chosen as World Post Day during a conference held in Tokyo in 1969 on the occasion of the anniversary of the founding of the Universal Postal Union in 1874 in Switzerland.
