The newly established committee of inquiry into the flood disaster in North Rhine-Westphalia should also meet in the affected areas.
It was suggested to the committee that “there will soon be a first external meeting including an inspection of the local conditions,” said SPD politician Stefan Kämmerling of the “Rheinische Post”.
According to the chairman of the committee, Ralf Witzel (FDP), the committee unanimously approved the proposal.
Düsseldorf - "Concrete decisions on the date or possible locations are still pending," said Witzel of the "Rheinische Post".
He will “apply promptly” for the special permit from the President of the State Parliament for the on-site visit.
The interrogations of experts and witnesses would, however, generally take place in the state parliament.
