The 34-year-old mountaineer missing on Monviso since Saturday afternoon has died.
The technicians of the Piedmontese Alpine and Speleological Rescue identified the body on the north side of the mountain, more than 400 meters downstream of the north-west ridge that the man was perhaps traveling on at the time of the accident.
After the ascertainment of the death and the authorization to remove the body, the body was recovered from the air ambulance and handed over to the Carabinieri of Casteldelfino (Cuneo) for judicial police operations.
The Alpine Rescue of the Guardia di Finanza and the Fire Brigade collaborated in the operations.
