The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences announced today that three economists from the United States, Canada and the Netherlands have won the 2021 Nobel Prize in Economics.
Reuters quoted the academy as saying that the award rewards the three Canadian experts, David Card, the American Joshua Ingreste, and the Dutch American Guido Imbenz, for their systematic contribution to the analysis of causal relationships and their presentation of innovative ideas about the labor market.
These are the last Nobel prizes this year, and the winners share a sum of 10 million Swedish kronor, equivalent to $1.14 million.
