- From the entrance gate, a huge silver caravan immediately catches the eye, in front of which an equally magnificent old-timer is parked.

“It's a Curtis Wright from 1947,” explains Stephan Bolliger from Switzerland, who owns the American caravan.

If you take a look inside, you feel like you're in America in the 1950s.

A large American fridge, checkered floor, and pastel kitchen cabinets make the picture perfect.

Bolliger likes the charm of the old vehicles and the fact that they are so well thought out.

A little further on, Siegfried and Birgit Donhauser from Sulzbach-Rosenberg sit in front of their Suleica 970, which they have owned for a good 20 years.

"Suleica stands for super-light caravan," explains Siegfried Donhauser.

The caravan is made of plastic and floats.

“It's actually like a houseboat.

You could hang a buoyant car on it and pull it through a lake with it. "

With the club for 25 years

Raymond Küster arrived with a “pre-war construction”, as he says.

His Wolf Hirth Tramp was developed in the thirties.

The small caravan is made of lightweight plywood.

There is even a place for everything in this little trailer.

“A wardrobe is integrated in the door and there is a kitchen that can be opened,” explains Küster.

Kerstin and Ralf Möller from Heilbrunn organized the meeting at the Kochelsee.

The two have been with the Camping Oldie Club for 25 years.

You like the nostalgic charm of the old meetings.

“Everyone here has the same quirk,” says Kerstin Möller.

And what is special about the old vehicles is that each company still had its own style, ”says Ralf Möller.

“The new ones are all the same.” His wife adds: “You can just slip into the old models and it's cozy.

The new ones are so sterile. "
