The third injection is recommended for the elderly who have completed the injection of Kexing or Sinopharm

The team stated, "For Sinopharm and Kexing inactivated vaccines, additional (third dose) homologous vaccines should be provided to people over 60. The team also added that they should be provided with different vaccines based on availability."

It said: "These people are unlikely to respond adequately to the vaccination after the standard basic vaccination, and are at serious risk of infection."

SAGE also added that when implementing the above recommendations, the government should aim to get this group to complete 2 doses as much as possible, and then give them a third dose, starting with the oldest age group.
