Saxony-Anhalt's Environment Minister Armin Willingmann (SPD) speaks out in favor of solidarity insurance against natural hazards.
The goal must be better personal provision in the face of heavy rain, floods and severe damage, Willingmann explained on Monday before the conference of environment ministers.
“Despite the flood events in recent years, not even every second building in Saxony-Anhalt is insured against natural hazards.
Magdeburg - We cannot be satisfied with that in times of increasing extreme weather events. "
The minister went on to explain: "If we want to avoid the federal and state governments repeatedly paying - and in cases of doubt more and more frequently - for damage caused by natural forces, then we have to develop solidarity insurance that is as binding as possible with affordable premiums for all owners."
