According to a media report, managing director Carsten Schmidt from Hertha BSC will leave the Berlin Bundesliga club after less than a year.
As the “Tagesspiegel” reported on Tuesday, the 58-year-old Schmidt is said to have given personal reasons for his surprising step.
There was initially no confirmation from the club, sports director Arne Friedrich did not want to comment on the personnel on the sidelines of the training.
Berlin - Schmidt has only been CEO of Hertha BSC since December 1, 2020.
According to information from the “Tagesspiegel”, he wants to go back to Munich, where he previously worked as the head of the Sky television station.
In terms of sport, Hertha started the season badly.
After seven match days, the Berliners occupy 14th place in the Bundesliga table with just two wins.
