A record donation amount of 260 million euros has so far been received by the “Aktion Deutschland Hilft” alliance for victims of the flood disaster in mid-July.
It was the largest amount that the Alliance of German Aid Organizations has had available for aid after a disaster since it was founded 20 years ago, the alliance announced on Tuesday in Bonn.

The money flows into acute emergency aid, medium-term aid and reconstruction.
Aid is provided by 15 aid organizations affiliated to the alliance, such as the Arbeiterwohlfahrt or the Johannitern.
The experts have been active in more than 80 cities or communities in Rhineland-Palatinate and North Rhine-Westphalia.
The focus is currently on help with the approaching winter: the provision of temporary accommodation such as mobile homes or container villages for families and individuals as well as the distribution of heating devices.
