They have been married for 25, 50 or even 65 years: 17 couples have gathered for the jubilee service in the church of St. Johann in Peißenberg - and have been blessed for the years to come.
Peißenberg
- To have the right person by your side is something special. And to be able to share your life with that person for decades, even more so. And it is precisely such couples that recently listened to Pastor Georg Fetsch's words, who had invited people to a jubilee service for long-term married couples. “Let us thank you for the years we have spent together and place our love under God's blessing. May he give us all his love and mercy, ”said Fetsch. 17 couples, 25, 50 and 65 years married, opened their hearts at this celebration in the Church of St. Johann.
Together with the pastor, they looked at their common life.
"Life is always an ascent, so that we can get up, to our goal," said Fetsch, who had brought a ladder with him as a symbol and symbolically climbed rung by rung with the couple.
The love, trust, respect, loyalty and goals achieved together belonged on the rungs as well as the children and grandchildren and the friends who accompany the life path.
After the individual blessing, there are roses for the women
"I wish you many more common rungs on the relationship ladder that never wear out and have the necessary stability.
God takes the top rung, ”said the pastor, who was supported by Father George and Deacon Manuel Reichart during the service.
The church celebration was musically framed by Maria and Leonhard Finsterwalder.
After the individual blessing there was a rose for the ladies and a certificate and many good wishes for both of them.
Already here for five years
The couple Gerda (86) and Walter (93) Manhart, who have four children, have been married for 65 years.
"We were already at the celebration five years ago and it is a matter close to our hearts," said Gerda Manhart.
Renate (73) and Georg (74) Karl also enjoyed the afternoon very much.
“The trade fair is important to us, everything is not so natural,” said Renate Karl.
“The Lord God meant well for us and held a protective hand over us.” Charles have been married for 50 years and still have one great wish: They want to see Rome together.
The jubilee service has been organized by Agi and Fritz Dirschowski for five years.
Both are active in the parish council and will also celebrate a major marriage anniversary next year.
