Germering - 18 comrades from the Germering volunteer fire brigade passed the performance test “The group in fire fighting” on October 6th.
The course of an extinguishing attack is shown under operational conditions.
The crew of the fire engine (group with nine comrades) consists of the group leader, machinist, detector, attack team, water team and hose team. The positions of group leader and machinist are determined in advance, as special training is required for this. “Attack troops and water troops simulate the procedure while wearing respiratory protection and therefore require training as respiratory protection equipment wearers. The specific positions will be drawn by lots, ”explains Christian Haugg, Germering Fire Brigade Press Office.
First of all, the participants have to show that they have mastered the typical fire brigade knots. Depending on the position drawn, different knots are required.
Additional
tasks
are then carried out according to the level you have passed
. This can be the answering of test questions, first aid measures, recognition of dangerous goods labels or equipment knowledge.
During the operational exercise, in which the attack troop and water troop are equipped with indicated respiratory protection, the water supply is set up from the hydrant via the fire truck to the distributor.
In addition, the site is secured against road traffic.
The operational exercise is completed when the attack troop and hose troop have positioned their nozzles and the symbolic fire fighting has been carried out.
Another component of the performance test is the coupling of the suction line, as it is required for pumping water from open waters.
For this purpose, the suction hoses are removed from the vehicle by the water troop and hose troop and coupled together.
The machine operator then couples the suction line to the fire engine and the troops symbolically lower it into the water.
The performance test is carried out by
referees
who assess the performance shown on the basis of the correct execution of all tasks, as well as the behavior of the comrades during the mission and the time required.
“All comrades were very well prepared for the performance test, so that both of the participating groups successfully completed the performance test.
We were able to welcome our Lord Mayor Andreas Haas as a guest, ”explains Haugg.
Following the performance test his comrades were in accordance with their level reached the
badges
awarded.
These were: 8 x bronze, 3 x silver, 4 x gold, 2 x gold-blue, 0 x gold-green, 1 x gold-red.
