Last year, the referral to the Council of State by several associations, including Agir pour l'Environnement, Liberté
Environnement Bretagne, and a few personalities including Juliette Binoche and Camille Dalmais, drew the spotlight.
They criticized 5G for being potentially dangerous for health and harmful to the environment and aimed to stop its deployment.

The conclusions issued by the Council of State put an end to the appeals.
The principles of energy efficiency and sobriety imposed by Europe are respected by 5G, as is the precautionary principle.
Indeed, opponents of 5G believed that this technology could present a health risk, and the Council of State considered that in view of the existing studies on the subject, the principle of precautions had been respected.
The telecom operators and the sector regulator (Arcep) are the big winners of this operation.
