Sophie Zhang, a former Facebook data scientist, announced that she is ready to testify before the US Congress against the giant site, after she felt that her hands were "stained with blood", saying that Facebook was not serious in fighting abuse and hate.
And Sky News quoted Zhang as saying that she felt as if her hands were stained with blood after working for Facebook, and that she was ready to testify before Congress about her former president, in addition to transferring documents about the company to an American official.
Zhang said she believes the company is not doing what is needed to combat hate and misinformation in countries outside the United States.
And Zhang noted in a tweet on Twitter last Sunday that she had "submitted detailed documentation of possible criminal violations to a US law enforcement agency."
Zhang's statements represent a new blow to Facebook after the statements of a former manager of the site, in addition to the recent major malfunctions in the site.
Frances Haugen, a former Facebook content manager, said the "blue genie" was operating without any oversight and urged Congress to make the platform more secure.
In the meantime, US Senator Marsha Blackburn of the Republican Party said that Facebook prioritizes financial gain, and the US Senator indicated during a hearing for the former content officer that it is time for Facebook to change its policy.
