A wave of forgeries of land ownership documents was discovered in the Mount Hermon area.
The purpose of the forgery is apparently the sale of land that is not owned by the sellers to innocent residents of Majdal Shams.
The Israel Land Authority issued a warning in this spirit to the residents of Majdal Shams and updated them that all agreements for the sale and purchase of plots in the Hermon area are illegal as long as ownership has not been determined in the framework of land settlement proceedings.
"The Israel Land Authority will not recognize these agreements even if these plots are included in a future master plan," it was clarified in a wording published by the authority.
"This is an unusual warning that we had to issue after we exposed criminal activity of forging large-scale ownership documents," explains Eran Livneh, director of the Land Conservation Unit in the northern area of the Israel Land Authority.
"We call on the public to refrain from purchasing land without conducting a thorough inspection of ownership."
