Bundestag election: Official final result for Bavaria published

The state election office announced the result on Monday on its website.

This means that there have been no more changes to the preliminary official final result published on the night of September 27th.

There was confusion about the publication of the final result after the meeting of the state election committee last Friday.

Initially, the state returning officer, referring to the federal election law, reserved the right not to make the results public until October 15, when the federal returning officer announces the overall result from all federal states.

But after the first countries made their results public on Monday, the Free State followed suit.

Bundestag election in Bavaria: percentage of postal voters increased dramatically

The turnout in the 2021 federal election has increased slightly compared to 2017: According to this, 79.9 of the eligible voters took part in the vote, after 78.1 percent in 2017. The proportion of postal voters has risen dramatically. It increased from 37.3 percent in 2017 to 62.4 percent this year.

With regard to the elected representatives, the regional returning officer assumed on September 27th that 116 of the total of 735 seats in the Bundestag were Bavarian candidates.

45 would therefore go to the CSU, 23 to the SPD and 18 to the Greens, who won a direct mandate for the first time.

The FDP achieved 14 seats, the AFD twelve and the Left four seats.

With this distribution, postponements until next Friday are highly unlikely, but theoretically possible because the distribution of the election results in the individual federal states to the respective state lists of the parties is mutually dependent.
