2021-10-12T09:38:57.275Z

Martin's moves are not only allowed this year in North Rhine-Westphalia, they are even encouraged. Home Minister Ina Scharrenbach (CDU) now referred to the clear regulation of the state government on Twitter, according to which events with up to 2500 people are permitted again despite the pandemic. "Martinszüge are traditional events and an expression of the solidarity of the stronger with the weaker", underlined the minister.

Düsseldorf - "My appeal to the municipalities: Make Martin moves possible!"

In many places, however, the municipalities are unsafe or have even canceled the Martin parade because it is unclear how the number of infections will develop after the autumn holidays and how the new Corona Protection Ordinance will react.

The current ordinance, which basically allows the relocation, expires on October 29th and thus before St. Martin (November 11th).

Many schools, clubs and municipalities therefore want to play it safe and only offer small, significantly stripped-down events - with music from the tape and a small move, for example in the schoolyard, sometimes without parents.
